YouTube & Video Spam: A Guide For Content Creators & Marketers

YouTube & Video Spam: A Guide For Content Creators & Marketers

It's not safe to assume that just because a deceptive technique works, YouTube approves of it. Here's what you need to know.

YouTube channel suspended for no reason? Silent channel violations

YouTube channels generally aren’t suspended for no reason. But certain violations don’t seem to follow the normal “3 strikes, then you’re out” rule. In fact, some community guidelines violations won’t even notify you at all…they can end in silent channel terminations that are difficult to appeal.

If your comments are flagged in the system as spam, then you could find your channel suspended without warnings or community guidelines strikes. The result? Your channel would be terminated for community guidelines violations against spam, deceptive practices, and misleading content, which doesn’t tell you a lot. Since you don’t know what you don’t know, it’s hard to appeal these.

Let’s discuss more about how this might happen and what you should be aware of.

HAS YOUR CHANNEL ALREADY BEEN SUSPENDED FOR SPAM? If so, then create a thread on the YouTube Community Help forum with your /channel/ URL (it is included as a link in the first paragraph of the suspension email), as well as a screenshot of your rejected appeal.

Don’t post your links on the comments section here because YouTube doesn’t like links in the comment. Instead, let me know that you’ve created a thread and what your username is on the YouTube Help forums.
